Dotz Privacy Policy

The short version

Dotz asks you on first launch whether to send anonymous diagnostic data. If you say no, the game sends us nothing. If you say yes, it sends anonymous gameplay and device data that we use to tune the game. You can switch it off at any time in Settings (DATA), which also deletes what we hold from your device. The game shows ads from Google, and Google handles its own data under its own policy.

What we collect, only if you say yes

  • A random install ID made by the game. It is not tied to your name, email, phone number, Google account or advertising ID.
  • Gameplay: the dot patterns you are shown, your taps, mistakes, times, scores, rounds, lives, and how runs end; pauses; what you do on the home screen (such as flicking the dots); the settings you choose; how a round felt, if you rate it; whether you were offered or chose a revive, and when ads were shown.
  • Device and app: platform (Android or iOS), phone model, operating system version, language setting, screen size, app version, and how smoothly the game ran (frame rate).
  • Sessions: when you open and leave the game, and for how long you played.

We do not collect your name, contact details, location, contacts, photos, or anything outside the game.

Why

To make the game better: to tune how hard patterns are, find where players get stuck or stop playing, set how often ads appear, and fix phones the game runs badly on. We do not sell this data or share it with anyone for their own use.

How long we keep it

Detailed gameplay events are deleted automatically after 60 days. We keep daily totals (for example, how many people played on a given day) with no install IDs in them.

Changing your mind

Open Settings and set DATA to on or off. Turning it off stops all sending immediately and asks our server to delete everything stored for your install.

Ads

Dotz shows ads through Google AdMob. Google may collect and use data, including device identifiers, to show and measure ads. Where the law requires it, Google's consent form appears when you open the game, and you can choose there. See Google's policy at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Children

Dotz is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
